I joined this couponing program a while back called the Savvy Shopper. You get a bunch of Sunday papers each week (I chose to get the max amount- 5 papers! It's only $16 a month through the daily herald's "savvy shopper special") so when there's a good deal you can get five times the amount of the product thats on sale with coupons.
Then there's the website: http://www.savvyshopperdeals.com/. You go there to see what deals other people have found (groceries, retail or anything that's a great deal), or to use the coupon wizard that helps you put together a shopping list. It has all the grocery deals for the week listed and how much less they are with the coupons you have and tells you which coupons to use. It's kinda hard to explain but if you live around here it's worth checking out the site to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. They also teach you how to organize your coupons in a binder with trading card pages that fit coupons perfectly! Then you also get emails every week for each grocery store (minus walmart) that tell you what the best deals are with your coupons, and each deal is ranked so you know what's a great deal and what's just okay. (you sign up for the emails on the website) They do all the work for you! It's a great system that can really help save you a ton of money on groceries. And it's all free! (you just pay for your papers) It does take some work to stay organized about it but it's worth it.So last night I took advantage of one of the deals they emailed us on for Albertsons. Cereal was 10 for $10 but with our $1.00 of 2 boxes of cereal coupon it made it $.50 a box!! Albertsons was also having a sale on yoplait yogurt ($.34 each I think). Bottom line is I got
10 boxes of cereal and several yogurts for
$7.00! It was awesome. I would've bought more cereal but it was pretty much all gone by the time I got there and the sale started that morning! But my favorite discovery of the night was the Chocolate Chex that I bought that night.
I was doubtful that it would be great so I only got 2 boxes, but it's SO GOOD! It's definitely one of my new favorite cereals!! The manager told me they'll have more product on saturday morning, so I'm going back with the rest of my cereal coupons to get lucky charms and more chocolate chex! Mmm.
