We did it!

Are you impressed by my dedication to our blog lately? I've been so good about blogging more frequently and I have to say I'm proud of myself. Although it's starting to take the place of my hand written journal and that's no good. So maybe one day I'll print all these out or something. I'm actually starting to look forward to posting new stuff. It helps that I know people actually read it. That's what keeps me motivated. So thank you! It's all because of you that I keep on blogging!

Okay. So this week we finally did it- we had our first family night with our kids!!! I'm so excited to be starting this tradition. Kart and I used a nursery lesson off the church website for our FHE lesson. We picked one about feelings. We talked about being happy and sad and angry. But I think aiden's favorite part was learning the songs. We taught him the one that goes:

"If you chance to meet a frown do not let it stay, quickly turn it upside down and smile that frown away. No one likes a frowny face. Change it for a smile. Make the world a better place by smiling all the while!"

He would copy the faces we made, but still doesn't do much actual singing. He's still saying mostly single words or short phrases. No sentences yet, so songs are a little hard for him still. But he's always happy to learn new hand motions though. Sometimes he'll say one or two words from the song. If we're lucky. He also still likes to conduct the music. I always enjoy seeing him do that!

So after we did the lesson we loaded the kids up in separate strollers (we need to buy a double one soon!) and we ate lemonade popsicles while we walked to the park. Here's some pictures of our adventures:

Emma just hangin' out in her stroller.

Showing Aiden how it's done.

Going down the "baby slide". Calling it the baby slide was the only way I could get him to go down it. He doesn't like slides too much yet. He's more of a swings kind of guy.

Lookin' cool in daddy's shades!

Sorry this one's blurry. It was an action shot.

Emma's first swing ride!

Today the kids and I went bathing suit shopping at Kid To Kid so we're prepared for memorial day when all the pools open! I can't wait! Look at the adorable suit I found emma! (man- she has some major rolls going on in those legs!)

After shopping we got a JDawg to share and went to the BYU Botany Pond to eat it and feed the ducks. (who did NOT want to eat- they must get over fed!)
Behold the most delicious hot dog on Earth! Mmmmm.

Video of aiden and the ducks.
