So this morning Emma and I got up early (6:30ish) because she decided that's when she's awake every morning (lucky us)! While we were eating breakfast I was inspired to go check out the yard sales today. (something I've been meaning to do all summer) So I got on Craigslist.com to see what yard sales were posted and wrote a bunch down, got up Kart and Aiden and as soon as we could we were out the door.
Our first stop was in Lehi and we found a great art easel (chalkboard on one side and a clip to hold paper on the other- I love it!) a scooter (because some jerk stole his bike a week ago), and a stroller (yes, my boy loves pushing a stroller...but he also loves all things boyish so I'm not real worried. He just likes to push things.). I was excited about those finds. Then at the next place we found a potty for aiden (she claims it's unused, and it was only a $1!), which I'm so happy about because we're ready to start trying to potty train him.
Then our last stop we found the holy grail...a play kitchen!!! I about lept out of our van while it was still moving I was so excited! Since he's been so interested in playing in our kitchen lately I've been really wanting to get him a play kitchen. It was my hope that we'd find one but I didn't know it would
actuallyhappen, so I was pretty happy when I saw it there waiting for us! :) I even talked her down on the price. I paid $30 for
the kitchen with a ton of food and dishes included! (they normally cost more than $100) It was the perfect kitchen too. It has all the features I wanted. (fridge, stove, oven, sink, phone, microwave...and more) A lot of the play kitchens
don't have all those things. Since we had just moved Emma's crib out we were able to put it where her crib use to be. It worked out perfect, and he loves it.
Yea!! He likes putting things in the microwave and cooking them. Even poor hoohoo got put in there. So we're sooo happy with our finds. It made me want to go yard sale shopping more often! Now we're just on the hunt for a bike trailer for the kids and a bike for me.Since Aiden was excited about trying his new potty we had him sit on it with his clothes on first and then a later we had him sit on it for real with no diaper and a drink of water and he did it! He peed in the potty on his first try!!! We were so excited! We decided to give M&M's as a reward for going potty because he loves them so much. So hopefully that will keep him motivated. I've been really nervous about starting potty training because I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm going to do my best to have faith that this will work and he'll be trained before we know it! I hope to report back soon that he's diaper free.
Sorry if these next pictures gross you out but it was a proud mommy moment! This is him realizing he just peed and then the next one is his pee!
