catch up

Sorry, I haven't been to good about my everyday blogging goal have I? I'll be better! Starting off with catching up on my birthday happenings.

It started off great- breakfast in bed from Aiden and my wonderful husband Kart! Breakfast was toaster strudel, yogurt and our favorite OJ- Simply Orange. It was perfect! Just the right amount of food (I can never finish big pancakes and eggs type breakfast) and I LOVE toaster strudel. It's our "treat" breakfast item. Usually reserved for special occasions and when it's a really good deal at the grocery store. And my side of the family will appriciate this- they chanted "boom shakalaka" while they brought it to me! (A Baird family tradition)

The middle of my day was pretty typical; taking care of the kids and the house type of stuff. My visiting teachers stopped by for a visit and brought some sweet gifts (potted yellow mums, treats and sidewalk chalk for the kiddos!). I always enjoy getting to visit with them.

Then after the kids' naps I dropped them off at my mother in law's and went shopping until dinner time. My brother Ryan and his wife Dara, Kart and his 2 sisters Aubrey and Linnea and his brother Kelby met me at Happy Sumo for sushi. Mmm! I got the Vegas roll and it was a-mazing! I can't wait to go back. I'm so glad Kart loves sushi as much as I do. We'll be going again soon- I hope!

I really liked that the menu had pictures of all their sushi rolls!

My Vegas Roll! YUM. I love the sauce they put on it.
Dara and Ryan sharing a "Catapillar Roll" (no joke!)

Ryan trying to get the courage to eat wasabi!
(he did it and soon after he paid severely for it!)

...more wasabi eating (Dara was not convinced this was a good idea!)

After sushi we went back to Kart's parents house to watch Lost and have cake and other treats he'd brought. He arranged to have everything, including the cake, Lost themed! (since we'd be watching Lost and it's one of my favorite shows) His mom decorated the cake (she wasn't given very good icing tools, but she did a great job with what she was given!). The flag had a note from Kart and the oreo cookie is a hatch, and the green around the sides are vines! There were also mini eclairs and cheesecake bites that were suppose to be mini islands that said lost on them. (thanks to his mom for helping him with all that!) It was cute. Needless to say, with all those treats none of us had room for cake! My kids were sure in sugar heaven! It was a wonderful night and a great birthday! Thanks to everyone who helped make it special.

Let me just end with a couple random pictures that I wanted to share...

We keep losing binkies so I bought her 2 new ones and one time she found all of them and carried them around! I thought it was so cute and funny. I had to take a picture.

Finally...we got our family picture printed, framed and on the wall! Check!
