A Proud Mama (warning- lots of potty talk!)

Aiden pooped in his potty for the first time today!!! I'm sorry, but that is HUGE for him! He's peed in the potty several times, but would never poop before today. I don't know if he was scared of doing it or what it was.

It all started with me trying a technique one of the moms in our ward said she did with her son. When ever she could tell he was pooping in his diaper she'd take him to the bathroom and make him finish in there until he got use to it and would go there on his own to do his business. She said because of doing that, the transition to the potty was easy. So I caught him making "the face" and dragged him to the bathroom explaining that from now on all pooping, and diaper changing, will be done in the bathroom. So later when I put him down for his nap I went in to check on him and he was standing on his bed and said he was poopy. He hadn't gone yet, so I took him to the bathroom and asked if he'd like me to leave. He said yes, so I left but kept the door open enough that I could see him in the mirror. He unbuttoned, unzipped and took his pants off all by himself, took off his diaper AND put it in the trash, and sat down and went! I couldn't have been more proud in that moment! Ha ha! It sounds so funny as I write it out, but it's true. A true proud mama moment! He was very excited to get the fruit snacks we've been promising him for weeks if he would just poop in the potty. (he LOVES fruit snacks)

I put him in underwear the rest of the day and he only had one accident. (He got into emma's crib when I wasn't watching him and couldn't get out in time and wet his pants a little, but he did finish in the potty.) I'm so proud of him though! I hope this is the beginning of more and more good potty days and the end of diapers very soon.
