Happy birthday (a little late) to me! I FINALLY was able to buy my first CHI straightener with the rest of my birthday money. Now I need the advice of my fellow CHI users. What do you use on your hair to protect it before you straighten it? My hair's already damaged so I need to make sure I don't make it worse.

  1. I LOVE my Chi! And the really nice thing about it is that it doesn't fry your hair, so you don't have to worry too much about putting something on beforehand... They are in a class all their own!

  2. I got it on Overstock.com, but that night I found it $15 cheaper on Amazon.com! Ouch. BUT Overstock.com price matches, even after you purchase. The only catch is that it's in the form of store credit. But that might not be the case if you price match before you buy it. And I used a 10% off promo code I found online. (I just googled overstock.com promo codes)

  3. I have always wanted one of those, but my hair is pretty straight anyway. I hope you'll love it just like everyone else. Logan said he had a really fun time with you and Kart last night. I was jealous that he got to go without me. But maybe could plan another outing some time with or without the kids.

  4. I love my Chi too! My hair stylist told me that since the Chi has ceramic plates it doesn't fry your hair and you don't have to put anything on it. I've used a Chi for about five years now and my hair hasn't been fried--at least I don't think it looks fried:) I think it's the cheaper ones that can do a number on your hair.

  5. I guess I'm the only one that uses anything...I actually use the chi iron-guard (a spray) in my hair. but...I haven't used it in awhile because I'm using my cheap version of a chi, since mine broke after a year! :( It was dropped quite a bit...by me.

  6. I love mine - although mine isn't a Chi its a babybliss.. but they are one in the same. Mine also has the ceramic plate which is supposed to keep your hair from being damaged - but I use some stuff that my aunt gets for me from the beauty supply. I get a pretty good size bottle for about $20 - I bought a bottle in December and I'm only about 1/2 way through it. If you need me to get some for you I can. It smells like coconut.
