Ok, so I'm getting close to finishing my mother-in-laws blog for her business. She makes "gnomes" or dolls, and mural painting so we've been working on coming up with a name that we could include all her businesses under. We finally decided on "The Checkered Umbrella". I like it! It's cute, memorable, and the umbrella symbolizes covering lots of different things she creates (She has lots of checker board patterns in her home decor, so that seemed appropriate to incorporate!).
After finally settling on a name I got to work on the design. Well here's 3 blog headers I've come up with to chose from. I thought I'd get the opinions of my readers in helping us decide which on to use, so please check 'em out and leave a comment about which one you like best. Thanks!
#1
#2
#3
I liked all three designs, but my favorite (and Logan's favorite) was #2. He suggested that you make the words the darker green and the brackets the lighter green because the words are what you want people to remember. But otherwise, I think it's a cute heading.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Good point. I'll have to fix that.
ReplyDelete#2 was the one that stuck out the most for me too, although I must admit, I like all of them! :)
ReplyDeleteI love them all but especially #3! What program do you use to do these?
ReplyDeleteI used photoshop because it's what I know. Illustrator would probably be a better choice but I don't know how to use it yet. (my next project- teaching myself illustrator!) Thanks for the opinions guys! Keep 'em coming.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to see the layout of #2 with the logo from #1 in the brackets.
ReplyDeletei like 3 the most... though might really like 2 with the bracket change. 1 would be sweet, but the overlap is distracting. I like that they are close, but maybe no overlap?
ReplyDeleteI like number 2 but I think you should do the color of the umbrella in number 3. : )
ReplyDeleteI like #2 also, but maybe make the words pop out more (different color maybe), and use a 3rd color or different combination, because red and green makes me think of Christmas. Not that that's bad, but kinda weird for any other time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI liked #3. But #2 is awesome as well. Good work! I can't wait to see the website!
ReplyDelete#1 with the graphic from #3. :)
ReplyDeleteI vote for #2
