my little climber

Don't let the innocent face fool you...she's clever! She's always been a good climber. People are always shocked at the playground at how well she climbs the equipment (like the ladders) It still makes me nervous to watch her climb, but I'm starting to trust her more because she's proven over and over that she can do it!

Well tonight it finally happened; the day I've been dreading. She learned how to climb out of her crib! I'm in for some long bedtimes for a while. (unless I go buy a crib tent like several people have already suggested) Now that she's discovered her freedom I can't get her to stay in her crib. She thinks she's soooo funny. Sometimes I'll catch her mid-climb so she quickly gets back in, pulls the covers up to her chin and gives me that cute innocent smile. It's too hard to keep a straight face. She's too cute! I don't know whether to laugh or scream!

It was just getting to me tonight. I didn't have the patience I should have had & I wasn't being the kind of mother I'd like to; one that's patient and loving. Instead I found myself angry and yelling. (My son kept getting up too because my daughter was) It was just a chaotic night. It didn't help my husband was still at work so I had no back up. It really only took about an hour for them to both fall asleep but it felt like a lot longer! I'm going to have to figure out a better plan for bedtime now that my little climber can scale the crib walls, or bedtime's going to be pretty stressful!
