Apple Picking

Even though we don't have our own garden or fruit trees yet (one day!) we're lucky enough to know a few people who do, and are generous enough to share their excess fruit and vegetables with us. So the other day for another one of our October activities we went apple picking at our neighbors house.

Picking apples was always one of my favorite family traditions, and growing up in Virginia there was never a lack of orchards to pick from. So I was excited to get to start this tradition with my own little family (the kids were never old enough before to enjoy it). My son had fun picking apples and my daughter enjoyed picking leaves (and a few apples off the ground)!

We're planning on making caramel apples with them tomorrow- and I can't wait! The kids and I went shopping yesterday for all the things we'll need to make them and it's been hard to wait. They're going to be delicious! (I'll be sure to post the results)

If you haven't been apple picking yet I highly recommend it! There's so many things you can do with apples.
You can find info on all your local "pick your own" orchards here.
