Cowgirl Cookies

Back in August I saw this cute "cookie in a jar" tutorial for Cowgirl Cookies on Bakerella- one of my favorite baking blogs. I've been wanting to make them ever since and last Saturday I finally did! I needed to make one as a sample for a church activity coming up next month where we're doing a "Super Saturday" of Christmas gift ideas. I knew this was the perfect time to use this tutorial. I ended up making 2 because the first one I didn't pack tight enough and didn't end up having room for the nuts. So I'm baking my mess-up jar right now (With no nuts; which is fine with me- I don't like nuts in my dessert anyway.). Oh man- they are as delicious as they are cute in that jar! This really is a great idea for an inexpensive Christmas gift. I'm already in Christmas mode. I'd like to do a mainly hand made Christmas this year, so I'm always looking for great ideas.
