Want to know what 40 weeks looks like on me?
Here you go.

I'm due today. TODAY!
This is the longest I've ever carried a baby & I have a feeling I'm going to go over my due date.
I actually feel better than I did the last two weeks when I was having lots of contractions.
We'll see though.
In the mean time I've been continuing to "nest" and knock things off my to do list.
(and trying not to add to it, but that's been hard. I was just noticing that cleaning our carpets would be a good thing to do.)
I went to Ikea this week and of course didn't buy what I'd planned to, but did come away with this cool new diaper bag for when we need one. (who knew Ikea sold diaper bags!) I use my purse as a diaper bag but we need something for when Kart takes the kids out or I leave them with someone. I got rid of our old one a while ago because it was beat up.
Here's the one I bought.
I like it because it's basically a changing pad that has compartments and folds up into a bag, so it's not very bulky. I think it'll be something Kart won't be embarrassed to carry. (always important)

I also took advantage of their sale on Valentines Day chocolates (buy one get one free- $5)
These chocolates are amazing and at that price I should've gotten more, but I restrained my self. I should have restrained my self more from eating them so quickly though! I don't think Kart had very many! oops.

Another thing I finally knocked off my list was figuring out the sleeping arrangements for the baby. We thought we'd do a bassinett again, but since we have a desk in our room this time (we didn't with emma) there's really not room for one.
So I finally decided on getting a moses basket. I found a good deal on one on our local online classifieds and brought it home on thursday. I'm pretty happy with it. We can put it any where and even bring it with us when we go to the Grandparents' house so it can sleep when needed in the bed it's use to. (I don't think I'll use the pillow, but it's cute so I left it in for now.)

I've got everything I need now.
There's still more to clean and organize, but I'm sure that list will never end.
So now I'm just waiting for the baby to arrive.
I wonder what the kids will think when it's no longer in my belly.
They understand what's going on, as much as they can. They talk to it and kiss my belly, but do they really realize that there's going to be a real live baby in our house?
I think they do but I can't be sure. I hope they welcome it.
I'm so interested to see how the new baby changes the dynamic of our home.
We're looking forward to meeting it.
(and not calling it an "it" anymore!)
Oh my goodness!! That is one big belly! You would never tell the rest of your body was pregnant haha. If that makes sense. Basically you are skinny everywhere else. I can't wait to hear the news of a new babe in the Barnett clan. I check your blog and facebook often. : ) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! You are READY!
ReplyDeleteOoooh. I just decided a few weeks ago that I want one of those baskets for the next one (that is NOT an announcement!). I think they are awesome! You look amazing for 40 weeks!
ReplyDeleteThanks all of you!
