up late

I'm up pretty late these days.
Mostly trying to get more done, but some times just watching the rebroadcast of the olympics or getting lost online. It's bad. I know.
Tonight it was cleaning.

Today I managed to clean every room in the house, but I left the kitchen for last. (Because it's my least favorite. I hate how quickly and easily it tends to get messy again!) It got put off so long, I didn't start cleaning it till 11pm. Not the best idea, but at least I got it done. And tomorrow when we get up I know I'll appreciate having it clean.

Even when I stay up this late I try to take a shower before going to bed.
I use to think I couldn't night shower because my hair looks kinda crazy the next morning, (big and wavy- sounds cute but let me assure you it's not!) and my cheap straightener never could tame it.
But last year I finally invested in a CHI straightener.
This amazing straightener has made it possible to take my wild morning hair and straighten it into something beautiful. And showering at night saves me a lot of time the next morning. Now all I have to do is straighten my hair and put on my makeup. I hardly ever need to blow dry any more (which I love because blow drying it took so long and makes my thick hair even thicker!)

I also like night showering because I don't feel rushed, and it never has to get put off because something comes up or I run out of time in the morning. It seemed like when I would shower in the morning I would often only end up getting a shower every other day! (embarrassing but true.) Ever since I switched to night showering I've actually gotten a shower every day. (and don't have to worry about what the kids are doing) Plus night showering is a great way to relax at the end of the day.

Well it's getting later and later. I better go hop in the shower and get to bed.
You never know when this baby will decide to show.
I gotta get SOME sleep!

  1. I have that same issue with night versus morning showering. I have super thick hair so if I shower in the morning, I either have to blow dry (and pray that there is actually time to blow dry & straighten) or do the school drop-offs with wet hair! Ugh!

And don't even get me started on the cleaning...I wait until Mondays to clean just so there are fewer people in the house messing it up behind me! :-)
