Consistently warm days are finally here, I've officially unplugged the TV and put away the cable box, and I'm ready for some summer fun with the kids. Bring on the summer!
I've been brainstorming ideas of things to do this summer and thought I'd share some of them with you. Maybe it will inspire some summer plans of your own.
- get a pool pass and go as often as the kids want
- go to the zoo
- pick berries and make freezer jam (anyone have a great recipe? Last year's could've been better.)
- spend a day exploring Salt Lake City (not the touristy spots like temple square but the shops and parks and other things to do there)
- go camping
- visit a national park
- go to a water park
- go tubing down the river
- make yummy all fruit popsicles (gotta find a good recipe for that too)
- take lots of pictures!
- take a mini vacation (moab, st. george, somewhere in a neighboring state...any where within a days' drive)
- get an ice cream maker and make home made ice cream
- go ice blocking
- eat outside...a lot
- go for a hike
- bike ride as a family
- grow something (is it too late to garden? I hope not.)
- have BBQs
- go to the fair
- watch fireworks
- catch up on my reading
- do craft projects
- paint
- make and send postcards
- go to a rodeo (can you believe Kart's never been to one?!)
- make homemade lemonade
- learn something new
- have dinner with friends
- eat farm stand fruits and veggies
- go to the farmers market
- go to Lavender Days in Mona UT and take pictures there again. (it's so pretty)
- go to a play
- go to a musical performance
- watch a movie outside
- make homemade kettle corn (our favorite)
- go for walks
- play at the park
- eat a hawaiian ice
- go to the library
- sew some clothes for the kids and maybe some summer skirts for me!
You are my idol! I can't imagine the energy it must take to go on such outings with 3 kids... one of which is a newborn! I hope I regain my energy quickly after Alexander is born so I can try to keep up with you!
ReplyDeletea couple of things wouldn't be possible with the newbie- like floating the river could be dangerous, but most everything else I can put him in the sling and go to it! Slings=a lifesaver.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're going to have a great summer! Glad I'll be there for some of it. I was glad to see Hawaiian Ice on there. If I lived there, I would have that every other day! As for homemade ice cream, try the tin can variety. It would be fun for the kids to roll the tin can back and forth. Also, take lots of videos and pictures, then post them for Grandma and Grandpa to see!
ReplyDeleteThe Provo Library has a summer reading program. It's great!

I can not even begin to imagine being able to do half those things. I WISH I could. You are awesome! Sorry I couldn't come outside yesterday. It turned out that I never did get prepared enough. I can't win no matter how hard I try.
sounds like fun!!! I especially like spending a day in SLC exploring...I have always wanted to do that but never had time. There are so many cool spots to shop and eat. Yea for SUMMER!!!
ReplyDeleteAdd go to Arizona on the list, please :)
