I've been struggling, forever it seems, with goals. Meaning I love to set goals, but I seem to never follow through with them. I've tried writing them down and even posting them publicly like on this blog. Doesn't help. I finally found something that works for me though...charts with a reward system! (basically an adult sticker chart!) And, also important, writing at the top of the chart a positive statement about achieving my goal. For example. I have 2 charts. One is for exercising 6 days a week. So instead of writing I want to work out 6 days a week, I wrote "I work out 6 days a week". Positive thinking. Stating that I already do what I'm working on helps me think more positively and stick with it. It's not "I'm trying to" its "I AM".
If I work out 6 days in a row I decided my reward will be something I want for $10 or less.
So far it's working! I made it through my first week. I'm excited to keep it up and really meet my goal of working out daily for 6 weeks.
I found this list of 10 tips for a mindful home and found it really inspiring. This is something I'm always working on too. (becoming a better homemaker) Maybe it will inspire you too.

LOVE the list! Great advice!
ReplyDeleteThose 10 tips are great, and I love your reward chart!
