It's Halloween

So I heard that November is National Blog Posting Month.  Bloggers are supose to post every day this month, so I figured I better start the month off right!

The Barnett family had a fun Halloween this year.  It started on Friday with our ward's Halloween party that Kart was part of helping with (He was in charge of setting up the spook alley and some games). There was a chili dinner and then the kids had a blast trick or treating at the classrooms, visiting the "mad scientist", going through the not-so-spooky spook alley, and popping balloons in the gym.

It was so fun to see our friends all dressed up and get dressed up ourselves.  Emma's Grandma Barnett made her a beautiful Belle costume with a hooded cape.  She loves it and looks so pretty in it! Belle is her favorite right now. Kart, decided to go for a cowboy look.  He kinda looks like a cowboy villain to me.

Aiden wanted to be a skeleton, and Owen was a Cop that night. (a different outfit for Halloween night- I had so many choices for him this year it was hard to decide!) It was hard to keep him from rubbing his mustache off.  Oh well!

I was an Indian woman.

Then for Halloween on Monday I got to help out in Aiden's class all afternoon while the younger two stayed at Grandma's house.  I was in charge of walking in the costume parade to help make sure we didn't loose any kindergartners along the way! And then I helped make some treats with the kids.  We made spiders out of oreos for the body, black string licorice for the legs, and eye balls I found made out of sugar. They turned out cute! Then when they finished those I had them draw jack-o-lantern faces on little clementine oranges.  It was a success and fun to be there for Aiden's party day! I'm just sad that my camera battery died on me - so sorry, no pictures.

Then that night the kids and I carved pumpkins and went trick-or-treating with Kart.  Kart's mom found these leather lederhosen that are SO cute on Owen, so we paired it with some tights, a cute sweater that use to be Kart's brother's, and we get a little boy that looks like he's off the set of The Sound of Music. I just wish that I had thought to dress up like Maria and carry around a guitar!  (Although I don't have the hair for that costume.)
I swear...they really don't get much cuter than this boy.

Emma and Aiden were looking great too.  They were all excited for trick or treating and we had fun going around our neighborhood gathering candy from friends. Even Owen got into it and would say "treeeeat!" at the doors!

Kart was protecting his brain from Aliens reading his mind! (from the movie "Signs") Although I later realized if we'd stuck a strip of tissue paper out the top he could have been a Hershey Kiss!

It was so fun to see friends in their costumes too!  I love that my friend Wendee always makes their costumes and they have a family theme.  So cute!

After trick or treating it was time to meet up with Kart's family for our traditional Halloween dress-up-and-go-out-to-eat dinner! This year it was at Texas Roadhouse.

Don't you just love their costume!?
Garden Gnomes!! I couldn't get over the cuteness.

Kelby's costume is always the most random! Aubrey was Audrey Hepburn.

The whole gang!
Linnea was the Queen of Hearts and Kellen was a pirate.

Happy Halloween!
I hope yours was fun filled too, and that you're not too deep in a sugar coma. :) I'm struggling to stay out of our candy.  I need to start giving some away.
