Thanksgiving

This year our Thanksgiving was spent in Sugarhouse Utah. Kart's uncle is a bishop and since we had such a large group we just ate at their meeting house, which happens to be across the street from his house too.  It's a gorgeous building with a stream and pond running in front of the property.  It's an old building full of character and beauty.  I believe it was once owned by Brigham Young.  I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures of the outside.  Next time I guess. We all had a delicious dinner.  I brought the rolls, as always, and beth made that pie pictured above.  It was the hit of the night.  It's sweet potato pie (tastes like pumpkin pie) with a gingersnap crust (my favorite part).  It was delicious! Sadly though, something at that dinner gave almost everyone food poisoning the next day. Luckily it was a quick sickness, but unfortunate that most of us felt awful over the holiday weekend.
After dinner we read questions from table conversation cards.  It was fun to hear people's responses to their cards.

While Kart's brother Kam and his family were here, they took us out to dinner (so sweet of them!) at Cafe Paesan (italian). The food there has changed a lot since they first opened and it's actually a lot better! (they're a fairly new place) We all loved our food.
Kart and I both ordered the same thing and didn't even know it.  That never happens to us! We got fettucini with the red + white sauce mixed and sausage. YUM.  Anything with sausage in it is bound to be a hit for me.  I love the stuff.

It was such a fun holiday weekend and I'm so glad we could have a chance to visit with my sisters that were here (Beth and Nat) and Kart's family.  Family is always one of the things I'm most grateful for.
