Grown Up Things

Lately Aiden's really been trying to do a lot of the things he sees us doing. It's pretty cute watching him imitate us! Here's some of the things he's done lately.

Kart changed the oil in both our vehicles a couple days ago (I love that I have a husband that can do that kind of stuff!), and Aiden had fun watching him and trying to help.
Trying to hand daddy a screwdriver.Playing with tools. He kept trying to get under the truck with him.

One of his favorite games right now is cooking. He discovered if he drags a chair over to the counter, he can reach all the cooking utensils. So he pulls them all out, one at a time, and pretends to cook with them in my cast iron grill pan I leave on the stove! He even makes sizzling sounds! It's so cute to watch. Notice the pile to his left. It's all the tools he's tried already.

Oh, and he likes to put them all in the microwave and says "hot". Sometimes he actually manages to turn the microwave with tools in it. So I have to watch him closely. Today I just unplugged it just in case.

The latest thing I've seen him immate me on happened yesterday at Maceys. We were in the produce section picking out lettuce, and when I turned around i saw aiden had grabbed a plastic bag and was trying to bag avocados by himself!! It was so funny! I was actually really proud of him that he felt like he could do it! So I grabbed my camera as quick as I could to catch it on film.
Testing the firmness? It was a pretty squishy one so we didn't buy it.I love seeing him explore and learn new things all the time. He sure is growing up fast!

My relief society president invited Aiden over yesterday to play in their backyard because they were irrigating so the yard was flooded with a few inches of water. He had a blast! A couple of her grandkids were there too.
I pushed emma in their swing a little, but we mostly just watched Aiden and chatted with Sis. Rhodes.

I think this cement ditch was his favorite part.

FYI- Frozen peas and carrots make great finger food for babies! She sure love them, and anytime my kids can do something for themselves I rejoice!
She's crawling really well now. Here's proof:
