I recently bought a new camera. This isn't any ol' camera. It's a Nikon D70 digital SLR! This is a big deal because for the last 4 years this is something I've wanted very badly but put off buying because they're expensive. Sometimes I forget that I was once a photography major. I use to love to take pictures. Then I dropped out of school to be a full time mama and got a little point and shoot camera that doesn't do nearly as good of a job as I would like it to, but works well enough to not justify replacing it. So I've been making due and in the mean time I became out of practice. But a month ago I got an email from my sister-in-law asking me to take some family pictures of her and her family. I knew my camera wouldn't do the job right so I got online and started looking for good deals on cameras on Craigslist and KSL.com. Lo and behold, what was waiting for me but an amazing deal on just the kind of camera I needed! Not only that but we just happen to have some extra money this month (cue the choir of angels!). So I took the plunge and bought it! I'm still learing how to use it (there are more options than I know what to do with!) but so far I'm loving it. And I'm remembering why I became a photography major in the first place. It's fun! I get so excited when I get that perfect shot. I would say that my first photo shoot went pretty well too. Emily's family was fun to work with and the location was gorgeous. I'm still editing pictures but I think I may have found my second job. Any one need an inexpensive photographer? (seriously! I need to build up my portfolio.) Here's so samples of my work on the new camera. More ramblings to come; stay tuned! (And those of you that are here just for the aiden/emma updates, they're coming. I haven't forgotten you!)
