Come what may

Elder Wirthland gave one of my favorite talks this fall session. It was about finding happiness in life, even during times of adversity.
He said when he was growing up his mother would say
"Come what may, and love it!"
As soon as I heard that I decided that's going to be my new motto! I love it.

Then he talked about the
4 ways we can find happiness:

1. Learn to laugh (he told some cute stories. Who knew Elder Wirthland was so funny!?)
2. Seek for the eternal -adversity will stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others
3. Understand the principle of compensation- the lord compensates the faithful for every loss
4. Put our trust in our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ- Jesus Christ is our partner, helper and advocate. He wants us to be happy and successful. He'll make weak things become strong!

I loved this talk so much. It was just what I needed to hear. I feel I'm generally pretty happy but I feel over whelmed from time to time and this new motto, "Come what may and love it", will be a great way to remind myself that there is something to be learned, and happiness to be found in every situation. Even if it doesn't feel like it at the time! I'm so glad he shared his mother's wisdom with us along with his own.
