Let me preface this by saying that
Lenka is my favorite music artist right now. (she's Australian in case you're wondering about her name.) The first time I heard her music I became a fan! It's folk/rock I guess. (I put her on my player so you can hear her) I love how happy her music is. It makes me feel good and inspires me artistically. So when I heard on the radio station 101.9 the end that they were having Lenka do an "End Zone concert" I was so excited. End zone concerts are when a music artist comes to the radio station for an interview and to perform a few songs on the air and in front of a small group of fans. To go you have to sign up on the station's website and then they randomly decide who will come and call you to let you know you're invited. Well I signed up on wednesday and got a call that night saying I could come! I was SO excited! I didn't really expect to hear from them but grateful I did. So my wonderful mother in law agreed to watch my kids and the next morning I got to go see Lenka perform! I have to mention too that this was the same night Lost premiered AND that we got the good news Natalie was really starting to communicate! Talk about an amazing night! :)
So I made it to the station and saw them perform 2 songs (I know, not a lot, but I loved every minute!), and get interviewed by one of the DJs. She is just as good live as she is on her CD. I love that. And I got to sit in the front row right in the center- just 5 feet away from her while she performed! Here's a few of the many pictures I took:
Lenka dancing to commercials before they started.

Meet the band...
Lenka herself
(I love the owl by the way!)

The guitarist

Trumpeter.
(I love his hair!)

The glockenspiel player.
(a happy little instrument)

Performing "Trouble is a Friend" and "The Show".

(I love those tights and boots!)

After they were off the air they agreed to sign autographs and take pictures. I was so excited and nervous. I've never met any one famous, especially not my favorite music artist. I was shaking! She is the nicest girl though.

She signed my picture (they handed pictures out) and took a picture with me and even recorded this for Natalie!
(like I said- SO nice and so cute)
I got to give her a hug and tell her how much I love her music. It was an amazing experience, and I'm so grateful I got to go!
