My Dad sent this email out this morning:
To our Dear Friends…..I have been inundated with the expressions of compassion and grief from my friends and family around the world regarding the tragic automobile-accident which my daughter Natalie was involved in Wednesday. The following link details the accident for those unaware of the event which has shaken our family to the core. http://cfc.wjla.com/
We want to thanks You ALL, for your words of compassion and encouragement. We have had thousands of people (from literally around the world) reaching out to us with unimaginable compassion, kindness, and simple heart felt-mercy….willing to bear our burden with us. Despite the multitude of cultures, languages and religions so many have been moved by the Spirit to show their love for our family and especially for our daughter Natalie. Natalie is loved by many and known by far more than she can imagine (as I have shared my family stories with my friends and work associates around the world, many have become close and dear friends). My soul has been touched beyond belief, and to a depth I have here-to-for never felt, nor could ever imagine.
Although Natalie is still in a coma (almost forty hours now), and on life support, Natalie is S L O W L E Y showing more positive and hopeful signs in her recovery and her efforts to respond to various stimuli. BUT she is far from out of the woods, which I expect will take weeks to months or perhaps a year or more. She was diagnosed with brain injury & swelling, and some bleeding near the base of the brain, a broken jaw both sides, a torn kidney, and fractured pelvis and dislocated tail bone. We administered a priesthood blessing to her, and felt the spirit confirm the hope for her recovery. The Doctors continue to do various diagnostic tests to monitor her status and watch for any possible issues, but nothing worse has developed, and she seems stable as her body is working hard to recover and heal. We are grateful that Natalie’s body is generally very strong and healthy.
God’s loving hands are directing Natalie’s healing process, and He has protected Natalie in all that has transpired and we are especially grateful for that. We are deeply saddened and weep with the family of Shelby Nicholson, who was riding with Natalie and lost her life in the accident. Somehow this event has brought so many people together in the spirit of the pure love of Christ. His caring love and your compassion and charity will heal many wounds. Keep up the work of comforting one another. We keenly feel your prayers and the presence of many people and ministering angels who are blessing us each hour.
Thank you for your patience and love. I will try to keep people informed as time permits, or her condition changes. Generally I will write only as things change or something noteworthy occurs.
We are most sincerely grateful for all your loving words and prayers and countless expressions of support. Since she is in the Trauma Unit ICU of Fairfax Hospital, (http://www.inova.org/patient-
