baby #3

picture found here

The 2nd blue line has spoken...I'm pregnant! It was planned, but it's still a little scary for me. Don't get me wrong- I'm really excited too, but all I've heard from other mothers is that baby #3 is by far the hardest. So I'm just trying to let my joy out weigh my nerves and have faith in the Lord that he'll help me survive those early infant stages with 2 other kids at my feet!

I haven't decided what kind of birth I'm doing this time. My first I did in the hospital with dr. and an epidural. The second was in a hospital with a midwife and NO epidural. I'm thinking about trying a birthing center this time or possibly a home birth, but I'm leaning a little more toward the first. I loved having a midwife and will definitely do that again, it's just the where I have to decide on I guess. We're not going to find out the baby's sex this time. I'm excited about having a surprise at the end! We can get away with it because we've had one of each so we're prepared either way now. I also like that I get to pick a boy and a girl name!

I guess I better start knitting! Those baby booties sure are cute aren't they? You can get the pattern here. I think I'm going to make a pair. I don't think I'll attempt a blanket this time! Too much else to do, but booties sound like the perfect quick project.

  9. Congrats. There are quite a few women in my neighborhood who have ventured into the world of homebirth lately (MOSTLY happy stories resulting). One of my favorite neighbors has had 2 of her 5 at home and will have #6 at home here in just a few weeks. You can read her last birth story here http://summerspics.blogspot.com/2007/11/naomi-colleen-michaelson-detailed-birth.html

I'll find out who her midwife was and let you know.
