20 weeks...and not counting

Here it is folks...my first "belly picture" from this pregnancy. I don't usually do the belly picture every month, not that I'm against it, but I just never have. I took this for those of you who care what my changing body looks like these days that never see me. My belly seems way bigger than it should for how far I am but it is my 3rd and I never did restrengthen those muscles like I should have.

I'm 20 weeks now and if we were finding out the sex of the baby we would get to find out this week but we're waiting to find out till the end! I thought that would be hard, but it actually hasn't. The only time it's been a little hard not knowing is when I'm shopping for kids clothes and come across a really cute infant dress. Other than that it's been easy.

This pregnancy has been pretty easy so far, like my other 2. (I'm sorry - don't hate me those of you who get sick!) I feel pretty lucky. It's only hard during the last month usually. For those of you who haven't heard yet, I'm for sure doing a home birth with a midwife. (yes, Kart's good with it!) I use to think I would never consider such an option, but after meeting people who have done it (and loved it) and learning a lot about what I like and don't like about child birth I've changed my mind. I'm really looking forward to the experience. The hospital is always quick to put me on pitocin but with a home birth that won't be an issue which will help the contractions be less intense. (My midwife says there's natural ways we can get labor to progress if that's necessary.) That's so important when going natural! Birthing is such a natural thing that our bodies were made to be able to do - with out all the interventions of the hospital. And I have never had a high risk pregnancy so I should be fine. I think it'll be a good experience. I'll be sure to fill you in on how it all goes.

  1. Look how cute you are! I can't wait to hear how the home birth goes. I wouldn't do it for my first, but I think it's an interesting option.
