Aiden earned the Student of the Month award this month! His teacher feels he's shown a lot of improvement and wanted to honor him for it. It has been an interesting year trying to figure out how to help Aiden focus better in school. He's struggled with getting his work done on time and the work in general since kindergarten, so this year we decided to have him evaluated by the school psychologist. He said basically that he believes he has ADD and suggested that he may benefit from taking medication. I never thought I would be the kind of mom to medicate my child (other than for illnesses) but I could see what a struggle school was for him and how it was affecting his work, so after talking to Kart about it we decided to go ahead and just give it a try. We were happy to discover it did help him quite a bit! His teacher was excited to tell me what a difference it made in him accomplishing things at school. It's still a lot of trial and error to find just the right dosage with the least amount of side effects, but I'm grateful it helps him. He was so excited to be honored in front of his schoolmates and I was glad we could come see him accept his award! I'm really proud of all his hard work!
He also lost a tooth this week and his teacher gave him this to fill out for the tooth fairy. I think it's really sweet!
