This fourth of july we didn't do a whole lot, but it was still a relaxing, family-filled day. We slept in, got the house looking good, and spent the evening with Kart's family eating hot dogs and hamburgers. The kids had fun playing with sparklers, but unfortunately Owen got burned, not once, but TWICE by a sparkler that was out but still really hot. Poor boy. He was in pain the rest of the night. We didn't do any big fireworks ourselves but had fun watching them go off in the neighborhoods along the freeway as we drove home and then in our neighborhood once we got home. They've made the really big fireworks legal here last year (I think they're the Black Cat ones?) and it's made for much more entertaining neighborhood fireworks! (much louder too unfortunately)
I really am grateful to live here and have all the freedom and opportunities we enjoy as Americans. And I'm especially grateful for all those who voluntarily serve and protect our country to help make those freedoms possible. I hope you had a happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July!
love, the Barnetts
